Saying “Hello!” to the waves on our 3rd day!!
Met those big, strong waves on our first day and I don’t know if I can get along well with them today.
For our convenience, we arranged a transport service with our friendly host.
9am to drop us off in front of Hard Rock Cafe at Kuta and 7pm to pick us up.
Cost: US$15.00 or about IDR 200,000.00
Today’s itinerary is all about the three touristy beaches:
- Kuta Beach
- Legian Beach
- Seminyak Beach
We didn’t know that Denpasar is quite far from these beaches. Jam was unexpected, too! By past 10, we arrived at our rendezvous – in front of Hard Rock Cafe.
Tip #1: From Kuta Beach, you will see a lot of tents and locals offering surfing board rentals and lessons. Most of their prices will range from IDR 300,000 – IDR 500,000. Try looking for one that’s farther. Price can get cheaper, up to IDR 50,000 – IDR 100,000!! Look how cheap the price can get? 🙂 You just need to haggle smartly, friendly and nicely. 🙂
A few more walks to see and look for a good-priced surfboards.
Finally, after a few negotiations, we found a good price.
Tip #2: If you really want to enjoy the waves and don’t have someone to look after your things, you may not want to leave it all with the surf board renter. It can get really unsafe as there are no secured lockers in the area where you can keep your belongings.
Tip #3: If you’re a beginner like us, and are afraid of the waves (like me), go to the beach as early as possible like 7 or 8 in the morning, because by around 11am, the waves will start to get bigger and they’re really scary. Also try not to go to the waters by 3-4pm when waves are strong!
Given the situation, we have agreed that one will go into the water, while the other watches our stuff.
Lunch at Bamboo Garden Cafe which can be found just across the street where we rented surfboards. There are also other restaurants in the area. But this one looks so local.
Walking around to search for those colorful beanbags!
Sunset Dinner at D’Joglo beach Bar & Restaurant, Seminyak-Kuta Beach.
