Day 2: Bali, Indonesia – Mar 2017

Day 2 was supposed to be a group tour but there were no guests joining us, so it was just the two of us – again.

Tip #1: If you are planning to roam around Bali, make sure to arrange a travel guide or have your own transportation (motorbikes are famous as a mode of transport) as tourist places can get far from one another.

2nd stop: Pura Tirta Empul – Holy water or well known in Balinese as Tirta, has three different purposes: First is Tirta Gering, for cleaning bad or evil spirits; Second is Tirta Merta for prosperity and; Third is Tirta Sudhamala for purifying body and soul.

My date today, tomorrow, and everyday.

4th stop: Pura Besakih – this one might be a loooong drive. But for me, it was worth it. Aside from the weather is a bit cooler, the place itself is beyond what I expected. A place where one can really pray his/her heart out because of the place’s silence and serenity. A historical place in Bali where you can learn more about their history, where you can say that Indonesia is indeed a “Wonderful Indonesia”.

Last stop: Kecak Dance – The Kecak dance is unique in that it has no other musical background or accompaniment besides the chanting of male dancers, intoning a “keh-chack” polyrhythmic choir during most of the performance. Kecak’s storyline is taken from the Ramayana Hindu epic and it’s often on the entertainment schedule of almost every Balinese arts and culture venue.

Tip #3: If you are going to watch the Kecak Dance, make sure you have something to cover up your feet or make sure to apply your insect repellent. Mosquitoes are always on the go! 🙂

Day 3: Bali, Indonesia – Mar 2017 will be up soon! 🙂
